It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present ageTitus 2:12 NIV
It is so easy to conform to the social standards of the day and just follow the herd. To believe the lie that happiness and contentment will come from driving a fancy new car. From keeping up with the latest fashion trends. Or from using some hot cosmetic or shampoo. Living a godly life in an ungodly society is harder. After all, who likes to stick out and be different than the crowd. All too often the one who sticks out gets pounded on, an attempt to put them back in their place. But that is what God calls us to do. To say no to ungodliness. And to be godly and upright in the world we live in.
