Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31 NIV

Leading up to this passage Jesus warned his disciples that the people of this world would treat them just like they treated him. But they were not to fear the people of this world. Instead, they were to boldly proclaim to the world the message that Jesus would give them.

In like manner, believers who live today should not be surprised if people are uncomfortable with us and our message, or even hostile. Don’t be afraid of the reactions of the people of this world. Be faithful to the one who holds your life in his hand. Be faithful to proclaim the good news to a world that is living in darkness.

There is nothing that happens in this world that God does not know about. Whether it is the death of the smallest bird, or the number of hairs on your head; God knows about it. And more, he cares about it. So, if God cares about the smallest bird, how much more does he care about me. I am of great value to him. Not because I am anything. But because Christ died for me. And, because he cares for me, I can be faithful to him without fear of this world.

Are you a child of God? Don’t be afraid. You are of great value to him.

  1. I’m in a card ministry and I ran across your blog, it really blessed and encouraged me. I use some things God gives you in the cards. So I wanted you to know the seeds God gives you are being planted in other lives and God is watering them as His Words are growing in other lives of His choosing.i pray over each card and He gives me what to write. So when He gives me a scripture, sometimes it comes with a
meaning He has given somebody else, Like you, I typed in the scripture and your blog popped out, thank you for giving your life to serve Jesus. it touched my heart and soul.
