And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

2 Corinthians 9:14-15 NIV

The surpassing grace that God has given to us is an indescribable gift. While we experience God’s grace in many ways, it is beyond our ability to fully describe it.

God’s grace is indescribable. We often define it as unmerited favor. And it is. But it is so much more than that. Because God’s grace impacts everything that he does. It is by God’s grace that we even exist. Our salvation comes to us through God’s grace. His Spirit’s presence within us is an act of God’s grace. His equipping of us for his service is an act of God’s grace. And it is by his grace that we can look forward to an eternity with him.

In this passage, God’s surpassing grace has given the Corinthian believers the ability to participate in this financial gift being collected for the saints around Jerusalem. Even the money I have to put into the offering plate is the result of God’s grace. Is there any part of my life that God’s grace does not impact? I do not believe so.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift of grace.

Just an old clay jar that God continues to see fit to use in his kingdom's work. I am retired, married with 2 children, and 4 grandchildren. I have followed Jesus for many years. And I love to share what He has given me from His word.
