God Is the Strength of My Heart

Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

Psalm 73:23-26 NIV

This is such a wonderful expression of trust in, and dependence on, God. And it is the desire of my own heart. To want nothing on earth more than my Lord. To have God as the strength of my heart. What could be better than walking so closely with God.

This world and all it contains is temporary. And my sojourn here is even shorter. Life here has its ups and downs. And navigating through this life can be challenging. But God is always available to hold our hand and guide us through the difficulties we face. It is great to know that I am not alone on this journey. And when it is over, I have a home in glory.

I often falter and lack the strength I need. But God provides all that I lack, and beyond. God is the strength of my heart. He is my portion, what I desire above all things.
