There are several reasons for the cross. But primary among them is that it is a demonstration of love, good in any language.
As believers in the Lord Jesus, we are engaged in a fight for the hearts and souls of men. But we need to be careful to do so with love.
Some form of obedience is required from us in nearly everything we do. But obedience that comes from faith is different. It should be a joy.
We are often faced with a choice of who we should follow. God. Or the crowds around us. When they are in conflict, always follow the Lord.
As Peter declared, Jesus is both Lord and Christ. But each of us have to examine our own lives. Is Jesus truly my Lord?
In Jesus parable, two men went up to pray. One was self-righteous, and not heard by God. The other humbled himself, and was exalted by God.
Jesus calls on me to love my enemies. To do good to them. This is hard. Yet I don’t see it as being a suggestion for advanced disciples only.
Jesus seems not to be as concerned with how much we give as he is with our motives. When we give with love, it is enough.
As followers of the Lord Jesus, we will face opposition. But we are called to put on the armor of God, and then to stand our ground.
