Hebrews: We See Jesus, Crowned with Glory (2:5-9)
Humanity is not what God created us to be. But we see Jesus, who took on a human nature, tasted death for us, and is now crowned with glory and honor.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Cor. 4:7 NIV)
Humanity is not what God created us to be. But we see Jesus, who took on a human nature, tasted death for us, and is now crowned with glory and honor.
The name Jesus means Yahweh saves. It is a common name, but Matthew identifies this Jesus as the one who would save his people. This Jesus is God himself.
Good news of great joy. It was 2000 years ago. And it is still news of great joy for the world today. The savior has come into the world.
The nature of Jesus . . . He is the second person of the Trinity. And he is both fully God and fully man, perfectly united into one person.
