No one is good enough to be righteous in God’s sight. All of us have gone our own way. But we can experience his righteousness through Christ.
Jesus’ opponents thought they were solving a problem by killing Jesus. And they did. In his death, Jesus solved the problems of sin for us.
How easy it is to make excuses for my sin. It’s not so bad. I deserve some pleasure. God understands. Instead, I should be weeping over my sin.
The doctrine of sin is one of the foundational truths of the Christian faith. It describes an aspect of our nature that is opposed to God.
How do you respond to the brother or sister who has gotten caught up in sin? Paul calls on us to carefully seek to restore the fallen.
The war within the believer between the old man and the new is a reality for all of us. But his Spirit enables us to have victory.
As disciples of Jesus, we will be hated by the world. But let our lives and words bear witness to the truth of Christ and against evil.
It is important to recognize which desires lead to actions that are sinful and hinder my walk with God, and abstain from them.
James says that not doing the good I should is sin. This includes harmful and hurtful actions. And failing to do what is good when I can.
I believe that there are two aspects to sin. Disobedience to God, and a nature that is focused on self and personal desire. Sin separates me from God.
James in clear that the temptation I face in life comes out of my own desires. And temptation can lead to sin and hinder my walk with God.
