There are so many things that we could worry over, and be consumed by. But Jesus tells instead to not worry, but trust in God’s provision.
Christianity claims that Jesus was crucified, buried, and then resurrected. But why is the resurrection of Jesus so important to us?
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers . . . what is mankind that you are mindful of them?
It is comforting to know that the sovereign God uses the ungodly for his purposes, even while holding them accountable for their actions.
Can you live a life that is worthy of the Lord? We can with the knowledge and wisdom that the Holy Spirit gives. And that should be our goal.
Jesus tells us to store up treasure in heaven, rather than worldly wealth. By serving God faithfully now, we are depositing for eternity.
This passage, more than anyplace else in the Scripture, affirms the supremacy of the Son of God, Jesus, over every other pretender.
Jesus calls us to discipleship. It is not enough to be a fan on the sidelines. He expects us to deny ourselves, and to follow him.
I find value in learning from the Scripture. But I have discovered that I need to live up to what I have attained in that study.
