Both Eve and Jesus experienced the temptation of Satan. Eve succumbed and fell into sin and death. Jesus resisted and brought new life to all who believe.
Don’t fall prey to the appeal to worship the things of this world. Much that it has to offer is good. But nothing in this creation should come before God. Worship and serve him alone.
God does not leave me alone in dealing with temptation. He knows me and what I am capable of, ensuring that my temptation does not exceed my ability to resist. And he always provides a way to escape.
Temptation: being attracted or enticed to pursue some course of action or thought. Generally we use it in a negative way; being enticed to do something that we should not do. Temptation takes many guises and forms; but one constant is that we all experience it. We even see Jesus tempted in the wilderness after his baptism, and the author of Hebrews tells us that Jesus was tempted in all the ways that we are.
