Extended Studies

The links on this page are to more in-depth studies. Some of them are studies of specific books in the Bible. Other are topical studies. Each link here opens a new page that contains links to each study in the series.

The Sermon on the Mount

This is a series covering the Sermon on the Mount. It looks at each of the teachings that Jesus included in this “sermon.”

Ephesians

Ephesians is one of the theologically deepest letters of Paul. It is a letter that every believer can profit from, studying what Paul has to say to believers. This has been one of my favorite books to write about.

Colossians

Colossians is also a theologically deep letter from Paul. It was written to a church that Paul had never visited, but one started by an associate. It is a very Christocentric letter.

1 Peter

1st Peter is a very practical letter, written to believers who were suffering in what is today the nation of Turkey. The letter offers encouragement to these suffering believers, exhorting them to remain faithful regardless of what happens to them.

Hebrews

This page links to all the in-depth studies I am doing on the book of Hebrews. This is an ongoing project that will likely take over a year to complete. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please check back.

Theology of Genesis

These posts look at Genesis from a theological perspective rather than as a historical or scientific study. What can we learn from these early chapters that can help us to better understand God, humanity, sin, and the purpose of creation?

Discipleship

This links to a series of articles that explore different aspects of discipleship. It is a growing collection of articles past and future.

The Seven Churches of Revelation

This is a series of seven posts that look at the message Jesus delivered to seven churches in the second and third chapters of Revelation.

Systematic Theology

The 13 posts in this series are a study in systematic theology, covering the major doctrines of the church in a systematic fashion

Doctrinal Studies

This is a series of posts that cover individual doctrinal topics. These are generally those not covered in systematic theology. Or covered more in-depth.
