Encourage One Another – 2 Corinthians 13:11
Serving the Lord, and life in general, can be hard and discouraging. So Paul’s admonition to encourage one another is a good reminder for all of us.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Cor. 4:7 NIV)
Serving the Lord, and life in general, can be hard and discouraging. So Paul’s admonition to encourage one another is a good reminder for all of us.
As fellow members in the body of Christ, we should be actively involved in the lives of our fellow members. Be an encourager and a builder.
When we assemble together as the body of Christ, we should seek ways to be encouraging to each other, including our speech.
Believers are called to be in community, not to be Lone Rangers. We need to gather together to encourage one another and to provide avenues for service.
Support a missionary; pray for them, write to them, offer financial support, welcome them when they visit; be a fellow worker with them.
Think about how to be an encourager today for other believers you come into contact with. Let us consider how to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” If you struggle with how to do that, start by growing in live and good deeds yourself, and then encourage others to join you.
As you live your life in Christ, be encouraged by the great cloud of witnesses who came before you, and who are now cheering you on.
