Encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. (1 Thess. 2:12 NIV)
As those that have received mercy and forgiveness from God, let us, in turn, show mercy and be willing to forgive the hurts others cause us.

I was lost in sin. But God, in his mercy, reached out to me with his offer of salvation and made me alive with Christ. Saved by God’s grace.
God did not call me because I was anyway worthy of it. I was far from worthy. He saved me because of his great mercy toward me.
In Jesus parable, two men went up to pray. One was self-righteous, and not heard by God. The other humbled himself, and was exalted by God.
