From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Much of the latter half of Exodus is concerned with details of building the Tabernacle and making the priestly garments. The instructions are sometimes hard for us to follow today and are a bit repetitive. I do find it interesting and try to imagine what it all looked like. But I believe the inspired Scripture included this for more than piquing my curiosity.
Blue, Purple, and Scarlet Yarn
Much of the priestly garments, and some of the tabernacle curtains, were made of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. Blue, purple, and scarlet have little significance to us today. But these would likely have been hard colors to come by. And so would have been both expensive and reserved for special use. I don’t believe God cared for these specific colors more than any other. But instead, God was asking the people to give Him the best they had.
Do I give God my best? Or do I give Him my leftovers? God has no need of anything I have. My giving is not for His benefit. It is for mine. As I joyfully and generously give of my time, talents, and finances to the work of the kingdom, I am laying up treasure in heaven (Matt. 6:19-21). And as I do, I honor God as Lord of my life. Demonstrating that He is more important to me than anything or anyone else.
